Term Limits for Justices Discussed Again

Volokh conspirator Lindgren draws attention to a NY Times article from Sunday, a WP article from 2002, and the Daily Constitutional blog. I also recall an article in last June's Virginia Law Review on this topic (90 Va. L. Rev. 1093).

Isn't the larger question, though, why we are even considering term limits for the Court? Could it be that they have decided, sua sponte, to fill a politician's role -- deciding political issues? Can anyone be surprised people are talking about treating them like politicians then?
